With
the exception of Jehan who was born in France, the first four
generations in this branch were born, raised and buried in
Acadia.
Journey of the Fifth Generation.
Paul, of the 5th generation, was born around 1716 in the St
Charles parish of Grand Pré, Acadia where he was raised. In
1740, he married Anne Hébert in St Charles and later they moved
to the more prosperous settlement of Beaubassin. This move may
have been part of a plan that he, his brother Joseph and their
cousin, Joseph [RIN1404] coordinated. With the burning of
Beaubassin in 1750 and the worsening conflicts with the English,
Paul decided to leave his homeland and migrate with his wife and
his then seven children to Rivière Ouelle on the Saint Lawrence
River sometime before 1759.
Generations 6 through 9 (Jean) remained in the Province of
Québec area.
Ernest Brousseau
the great-grandson of Delia Rose Theriault, who is a 7th
great-grand-daughter of Jehan Terriot. Ernest is our
Delegate for the Jean & Lumina W. Theriault Great-Branch.

Photo 1. Delia |
In 2002, Ernie sent in the photo at left
with this note:
"I am sending you a picture of
my great grandmother Delia Rose Gaudreault. Her maiden name was
Therriault. She is the one on the left. The other two I don't
know you they are. I'm hoping some one can Identify them for me.
I don't know when or were the picture was taken. She died Jan
20,1953. Also, she lived in Willimantic , Connecticut most of
her adult live. The photo could have been taken there.
|
She was also known to go to Canada and
Massachusetts to visit family.
She is the daughter of Jean and Willemine (Duchene)
Therriault..." |
