TITLE GARDEN LETTUCE WITH SOUR CREAM
HISTORY This recipe is one from the Madawaska Historial Society's REUNION FAMILIES' FAVORITE RECIPES. Copies of the cookbook may be ordered directly from the Historical Society, Madawaska, Maine 04756. This recipe is a Plourde Family Reunion recipe which comes from Regina P. Plourde. 
INGREDIENTS
  • fresh lettuce (cut garden lettuce)
  • 1/4 cup fresh shallots (green onion tails)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
PREPARATION Cut fresh lettuce and rinse several times to get all the soil off the leaves. In a large bowl, blend torn lettuce and chopped shallots. Shake to mix well. Pour the seasoned sour cream over the lettuce and stir thoroughly to coat the lettuce. Add salt and pepper to taste.
